Saturday Vigil Choir
In 2007, after a request from the parish for help in providing music for the Saturday Vigil Mass, we decided to round up some talent from the Randalstown Parish to see what could be done. We discovered some very gifted singers and musicians. Since then we have been providing liturgical music for the Saturday Vigil Mass. We aim to make this a meaningful and uplifting experience. Age is not a barrier and we discover that as children and adults alike join our group, everyone enjoys helping each other and also the fun which we have together. We work as a team and have discovered that the mass has become more meaningful to us.
Our choir has developed a social side. We meet new friends and have social evenings. At our Christmas Dinner we kept the restaurant highly entertained with our singing! In 2010 we also organised a trip to the Liam Lawton concert for the choir. We welcome all ages and instrumentalists, as our music can incorporate both traditional and classical elements. One of our main aims is the ‘enjoyment’ of our music which brings the spiritual element to the fore. We are always willing to increase our membership. Anyone wishing to come along and sing or play is very welcome. Practices are held in the church on Thursdays at 6.30pm.
